What's the best way to sell fine art and jewelry from a personal collection?

I have lots of fine art - some moderately valuable and some very valuable - and some precious jewelry to sell. It's from a personal collection and I'm about 3 hours away from the closest big city. What's the best way to get the most value from these items?
