Art History

where should i go if i want to study asian art history?

I am currently an undergraduate in my fourth year with a major in art history and minor in english literature. My overall GPA is 3.1 and my major GPA is 3.6. I want to continue studying art history, specifically in Chinese art. I can read, write, and speak traditional Chinese. I also studied abroad in China this past summer. Would it be too farfetched for me if I want to apply for graduate schools?

  1. China
  2. no not at all! it probably would not be a bad idea for you to take 1-2 years off and get your chinese super proficient and get a job in the arts field; grad programs like to see that you are dedicated to the field and some will hesitate to admit students that are not super prepared. or you could take a year and go to china...make sure that you can get good letters of rec from the professors who you are studying with right now; consider writing an honor's thesis... places that are good for chinese art history: university of michigan, columbia, berkeley...good luck. find out where your professors went to grad school...good luck.
